Christmas Carols at Hospice
The Toowoomba Hospice will start its Festive Season this Sunday 28th November at the Hospice in O’Quinn Street. Chairman Graham Barron OAM said the Hospice is celebrating the Festive Season with carols and lighting of the Christmas tree. Graham Barron and Mark Munro from the Toowoomba Hospice Help Santa hand out Ice-Cream to all those attending the Toowoomba Hospice Christmas Carols The Toowoomba Hospice has been providing Palliative Care Services to the Lockyer Valley, Toowoomba and Darling Downs Communities since July 1st 2003. “We are excited to be able to celebrate our 7th Christmas and we want to thank the Community as a whole from the bottom of our hearts for supporting us so we can provide Palliative and Respite Care for those with a terminal illness especially at this time of the year” said Mr Barron. “We are having Christmas carols here at the Hospice from 5pm, Toowoomba Municipal Band will be playing, High Altitude Harmony will lead the singing accompanied by the students from St Anthony’s Primary School, there will be food and drinks on sale as well, so bring the family, a blanket or chair and kick off the Christmas season with us here at the Toowoomba Hospice”. Mr. Barron wants to reassure all those who attend on Sunday that the ‘Big Fella’ in the red suit will be coming in from the North Pole for a quick visit. “I have had our promotions and fundraising manager Mark Munro on the phone to the North Pole coordinating a special visit from Santa and I am pleased to say he is on his way and will arrive at 6pm via a BIG RED TRUCK!!!” Continue reading

Toowoomba Hospice has a FEVER!
The Toowoomba Hospice has a ‘FEVER’…..YES you’ve got it – ‘Melbourne Cup Fever’! Promotions and Fundraising Manager Mr Mark Munro from the Toowoomba Hospice said the Hospice is holding its Annual Melbourne Cup Lunch on the 2nd November from 11.30am at Café Valetta and tickets are now on Sale, “Ticket price is $45 per head which includes a complimentary glass of champagne and nibbles upon arrival and includes a delicious 2 course lunch. 6th Annual ‘Trash Ya Hair for Hospice Care!’ Happening During October
The Toowoomba Hospice is a six bed facility which offers respite and palliative care for the terminally ill. As part of our ongoing fundraising efforts, the Toowoomba Hospice is holding its ‘‘Trash Ya Hair for Hospice Care!’ this month. ‘Trash Ya Hair for Hospice Care!’ week is aimed at raising the awareness and profile of the Toowoomba Hospice in our local community. Each participating organisation selects a day during the ‘Trash Ya Hair for Hospice Care!’ month in which participants are encouraged to make a donation to the Hospice by colouring, moussing, gelling or shaving their hair. All monies raised on the day are donated to the Toowoomba Hospice with Prizes for Most money raised by: * An individual * A business * A club or community group* * A school* *To make it fair monies raised will be divided by total participants, ensuring a fair chance for all. Hospice Race Day Tickets Galloping Away
Toowoomba Hospice has sold over 170 tickets for Saturday 14 th August’s Race Day at Clifford Park. Chairman of the Toowoomba Hospice Association Mr Graham Barron OAM said he was happy with the response so far to the 7th Annual Race Day. “We hope to sell another 50 – 100 tickets by the end of next Tuesday (10 th August) as we have to have catering numbers in by the close of business on that day” This is one of the Hospices’ major fundraising/social events and will raise money to be used to assist the daily operations of this important community facility. Mr. Barron said the Hospice’s Mission is to provide free professional palliative care for all ages, based on mutual respect and trust for those who come to us and their families. Hospice Chairman Graham Barron and Toowoomba Turf Club Secretary Mr. Aaron Clancy inspect the Cushion Track in preparation for the Toowoomba Hospice Race Day on August 14th from 2.30pm. A Stroll Down Broadway for Toowoomba Hospice
